Dilemna

I just spent a delightful hour going through and reading the blogs of friends and leaving a few comments here and there. It was pure joy. And it brought my attention sharply back to my dilemna: between work and other pursuits (many), I find that I have time to write my own blog, or time to read and comment on others, but not time to do both well. I miss whichever one I don't do. I know many of you do both without a blink or hesitation...all while taking care of children. I suspect my perfectionist streak has much to do with this--I can spend 20 minutes leaving a two sentence comment because it has to be "right".

All of which is to say that I'm sorry if you've felt ignored or unimportant to me. Truth is, I had more fun this last hour than I've had in a long time, catching up on the stuff you're all up to. And I'm not sure how I'll resolve the dilemna. When the miner's blankets are done, I may shut down the blog altogether. Or I may decide to post once or twice a week and use the other days to catch up with you. Or something.

I do welcome suggestions...and again. Forgive my absence on your wonderful blogs. I've missed them.

Please don't shut down the blog. You provide a much needed levity and entertainment to my day.
I'd certainly miss your take on living.

Ok heres the deal, if you shut down your blog, there are alot of friends of yours out here like me and Marianne who will shut our blogs down too, and then you won't have any to visit, so don't metion shutting down your blog ever again or I might just have to come over there and whoop your arse missy!
    ;-)
said firmly with my tongue in cheek and a glint in my eye but methinks you get the drift!
At the end of the day I would rather you keep writing, than worry about whether you've left me a comment or not, I mean I love comments just as much as anyone else but I started the blog as a record...and hopefuly with a little help from my friends it will keep on that way!

It's all about balance... and finding it. Go for the best of both worlds and if that means posting 1-3x/week, then so be it, and shutting down your blog? Oh, I beg your pardon but... well, just step away from that thought... slow and easy... :^)

I'm not a blogger myself, but I really enjoy reading them and yours is one of my favourites, so please, keep it going if you can! Even once a week would be a treat to read.

Honeybun, what everyone else said! I know just how you feel about comments - hell's bells, you know how I edit every bloody thing. And I do the same thing quite frequently, as you've seen; I have to slow down on something every so often, or I don't get anything done. But I come back. You can't leave us!!!

To repeat: We don't care if you don't comment! WE DON'T WANT YOU TO SHUT DOWN YOUR BLOG! We'd miss you! We'd pine! We wouldn't laugh nearly so much! (In fact, we might sob hopelessly.) We'd show up at your house and hold sit-ins of protest, chanting horribly non-rhyming slogans, or something possibly slightly rhyming, like, "No, no, Flo don't go!" - you know, anything - waving our knitting in the air, confirming your neighbors' suspicions about you! (Hmm. Sounds like it'd be quite a party, actually...) ::wrenches attention firmly back to the subject:: Alternate reading and writing as Mariannne suggested; buy a cheap PDA (or whateverthehell they are) and d'load your fave blogs onto them so you can read while stuck in traffic; whatever, anything!

I mean, getting comments from you is wonderful, but if it's a choice between you only reading (and commenting), or writing (and reading but not commenting)... Well. No choice. The Flo must flow.

    Or something like that.

Throwing my vote in with the others'. Comments are great. And I'm always happy to get yours. But if I have to choose between getting your comments and reading your writing, I'd rather read your writing. Pace yourself. Try to find a balance. And save perfectionism for the Martha Stewarts of the world. Ecclesiastes is a great reminder for me: to everything there is a time, and a season. [Hugs]

Now, now ... . No more loose talk of quitting - balance is good and fewer entries is an acceptable concept -

(approaching frenzy - must. stave. off. frenzy... beg instead)

Please don't stop writing for us -
    (more begging, etc...)

I agree with everyone else. Besides, I don't comment much myself. I think I'm a lurker at heart. I like to know who reads my blog, but certainly don't feel that everyone has to comment on every post. Please keep blogging, but even once a week would be good.

No, no, no... you can't stop. Where will we all go for a good laugh. But we understand the pressure involved in posting and the time it consumes, so fewer posts would be fine - just don't abandon us!!!!

Oh, please don't stop. I'll gladly take a small dose of your writing in place of losing it altogether.

Please don't shut down your blog! You are one of my favorites. Comments are always great to recieve, but I'd rather read about the goings on in your life than get a comment. You could try cutting back a little, I've discovered that I can't take time off my blog, but I can cut back to a few times a week. Think of all the friends that have been made! FSF Jo is one of my favorite people and we never would've met if it hadn't been for you!

    Keep up the fab work!

Oh please don't shut down your blog. I love reading it. A post or two here and there is better than nothing right?.

OK sister, you asked for it, you're gonna get it. Shut down that blog and you are in trouble. BIG. TROUBLE.

Didn't want to have to say this, but you made me. My personal team of highly trained leprechauns KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE.

Enough said? Thought so. Now get typing.
